Colorado Day Means Free Admission to Our 42 State Parks Today
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is celebrating Colorado Day today, although it really fell on Saturday. Colorado's acceptance into statehood is being celebrated with free park entrance at all 42 state parks today (Monday, August 3.)
Colorado was first recognized as a state Aug. 1, 1876. The first addition to the Colorado state park system, Cherry Creek State Park, came some fifty-six years later.
