Broncos Sign Former CSU QB Caleb Hanie to Back Up Manning
I always wished things had panned better out for Bradlee Van Pelt, he was fun to watch. I was excited when he was signed by the Denver Broncos, but things didn’t work out as Van Pelt was playing in in the United Kingdom for the Leicester Falcons last year (I don’t see his name on the roster now).
But another former Colorado State University quarterback will get his shot with the Broncos and be the guy backing up Payton Manning.
According to the Denver Post, Hanie has signed a two-year deal with the Broncos and he’ll get a new perspective on the quarterback position;
“With the Broncos, Hanie will get a new lesson in work ethic. In his four seasons with the Bears, Hanie first played behind Kyle Orton and then [Jay] Cutler. Neither Orton nor Cutler are known for putting in extra time on the practice field or weight room, at least not while they played in Denver.”
Was this a good move by the Broncos?
Regardless, isn’t it fun to see former Rams in the NFL? Good luck Caleb!
