Remember the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree"? How about "Tie a Green or Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Ash Tree"? Colorado Tree Coalition volunteers have wrapped more than 450 Front Range ash trees with bands of green or yellow ribbon to offer a visual example of the millions of trees in Colorado that could be lost to the invasive emerald ash borer.

The trees, selected for being in high-traffic public parks or along street rights-of-way, were wrapped as part of National EAB Awareness Week, May 17-23.

Locations where trees are wrapped include:

  • Broomfield
  • Englewood
  • Erie
  • Lafayette
  • Lakewood
  • Longmont
  • Louisville
  • Westminster
  • Boulder County properties
  • University of Colorado campus in Boulder
