The Larimer County Health Department confirmed the death of a Loveland child Wednesday.

The Larimer County Health Department has confirmed that a has died from a potent strain of the flu that is blanketing Northern Colorado. The Coloradoan has said that although the Health department hasn't released any details about the child, but the Loveland Reporter Herald has said the child is an 18-month-old Loveland girl.

As of Wednesday afternoon 49 people have been admitted to the hospital with flu-like symptoms. Most cases seen involve people 65 and older, the rest are young children.

Children and the elderly are at most risk of getting the flu. If you exhibit any of the symptoms please see a doctor immediately. Symptoms include a fever (yet not everyone will get a fever), a cough and/or sore throat, a runny or stuffy nose, headaches and/or body aches, chills, fatigue, nausea and/or vomiting.
