Don't think for a moment that the glow of winning the ECHL Championship last season has worn off for the Colorado Eagles. They are out to defend the cup, but they are in a fight with the Fort Wayne Komets for the Western Conference Championship and they are down to their last game. The Komets edged the Eagles 3-2 at the Budweiser Events Center Tuesday night to even the series at 3-3.

While it's difficult to predict the outcome of a game 7, the Eagles definitely have the home ice advantage with what has traditionally been one of the loudest and fullest houses in the ECHL. Looking at the series, it's tough to see which of the two teams has an advantage or significant momentum. Every game but one has been decided by one goal (Fort Wayne won game three 4-2). Two games have gone into OT with the Eagles winning both.

The winner tonight moves onto the ECHL Championship where the Florida Everblades are waiting. The Everblades rolled through the East winning 12 games and only losing two.

The puck drops tonight at 7:05p at the Budweiser Events Center.
