In October, Cyclist Lance Armstrong lost his credibility as an amazing athlete. Armstrong is now banned from competition for life and was stripped of his Tour Titles.


In an exclusive interview Oprah Winfrey comes out of the shadows and talks one on one with Lance Armstrong.

Winfrey appeared on "CBS This Morning," telling hosts about the interview she taped with Armstrong on Monday: "We were mesmerized and riveted by some of his answers. I feel that he answered the questions in a way that he was ready. ... He certainly had prepared himself for this moment. ... He brought it. He really did."

Prior to this interview, Armstrong has been arrogant and rude to those around him in regards to the reasons that led to his banning from competition and the stripping of his titles. Its said that in his interview with Oprah that he got emotional a few times:

Winfrey said, "I would say there were a couple of times where he was emotional. But that doesn't describe the intensity at times. ... I would rather people make their own decisions about whether he was contrite or not."

There are pending lawsuits against Armstrong and speculation that he is moving towards paying back his sponsor(s)

The 2 1/2 hour interview with Oprah will air Thursday on the Oprah Winfrey Network and could led to a broader criminal probe into Armstrong's actions and may leave the 41 year old athlete subject to paying civil damages.
