I am aware I spelled his name wrong in the headline. It's about respect and my lack of it for the leader of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka Kansas.

Journey 4 Justice - 2011 National Rally in Topeka Kansas

Many of you have heard by now the rumor that Phred (Fred) Phelps is in hospice care in Topeka Kansas at Midland Hospice House and about to take his least breath.

Although we've heard these rumors many times over the last several years, it sounds pretty legitimate this time around that the face of evil here in the United States is about to take his last dying breath and meet his God. According to his most famous estranged son, Nathan Phelps. According to Nathan,

I've learned that my father, Fred Phelps, Sr., pastor of the "God Hates Fags" Westboro Baptist Church, was ex-communicated from the "church" back in August of 2013. He is now on the edge of death at Midland Hospice house in Topeka, Kansas. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Terribly ironic that his devotion to his god ends this way. Destroyed by the monster he made. I feel sad for all the hurt he's caused so many. I feel sad for those who will lose the grandfather and father they loved. And I'm bitterly angry that my family is blocking the family members who left from seeing him, and saying their good-byes - Nathan Phelps

So why was he kicked out of his own church? According to estranged family members the 'excommunication' occurred after the male elders in the cult church formed a board. The rift then started with the board effectively shutting down the wicked witch of the west, Shirley Phelps-Roger. Good old Shirl WAS the church’s longtime spokeswoman and was in a constant power struggle for control over the church. So Phred asked the male elders to treat church members more kindly and they responded with shutting good 'ol Shirl up and kicked their Father to the curb!

Can you feel the love? Where in the bible does it say to kick people out of your church for requesting each other be kind to one another. Doesn't matter I guess, I hope they all rot in hell (where's my smiley face emoticon?) and I will make sure to tell them next month when Journey 4 Justice rolls into town once again..we'll dance in front of their homes!

So the question now that he is no longer a member of the Westboro Baptist Church is will the family picket his funeral when the old buzzard rattles his last putrid breath! I am guessing they will, and I hope they do, however, the family is asking that people don't protest and/or picket his funeral so who knows. This is coming from a family spokesperson who is asking us all to take the high road and let the family grieve and respect their privacy.

Talk about irony...
