Colorado Parks and Wildlife rangers trapped a mountain lion in the town of Lyons yesterday and plan to relocate the animal out of the area.

The lion is a 95-pound male and has a radio collar, meaning it is part of the Front Range Mountain Lion Study. The mountain lion had killed a raccoon near a house on Reese Street in Lyons and also killed a house cat who tried to investigate the situation.

The mountain lion was tranquilized and trapped. It will be relocated to another part of the state so that it doesn't return to the area.
