Plane Once Owned by Elvis is for Sale
The last time Elvis performed in Colorado was April 23rd, 1976 at McNichols Arena in Denver. It could have been aboard his own private jet, although that can't be confirmed.
Some people have guitar pics or autographed ticket stubs. Others have more of the high-end items like autographed guitars or handwritten lyrics to a popular song. Very exclusive items like a car once owned by a star or a jacket worn during a famous concert go up for sale every once in a while and those who have the resources to purchase them certainly have a unique piece of history. An A-List celebrity and Icons Memorabilia auction recently took place that featured incredible items from names such as: Madonna, James Brown, Ray Charles, Marilyn Monroe, Tom Cruise, and Tom Hanks. One of the biggest was a private plane once owned by Elvis Presley.
The red Lockheed JetStar has been sitting on a tarmac in Roswell, New Mexico for more than 30 years. It was owned by a private collector who did not touch the aircraft. It's all original with it's red velvet seats, inlay, woodwork, and in typical Elvis fashion: red shag carpet. It is a bit of a "fixer-upper" as the cockpit needs restoration. Also, it doesn't have any engines.
