It makes me proud to say that I am from the same community as a great guy like Shane Carwin. Some like what he does, others don't care for it, but there is no denying one thing... Shane is a great human. Yesterday it was announced that he will be one of the two coaches to participate in this years national TV program, "The Ultimate Fighter." Shane will also be at Shawn Patrick's Lures 4 Laney this Sunday taking pictures and signing autographs.

The Greeley native hasn't been in the octagon for some time following  back surgeries and two losses in a row. That will all change this fall. Carwin will be one of two heavyweight coaches on season 16 of "The Ultimate Fighter" on FX, UFC president Dana White said. Carwin will coach against, and ultimately fight Roy Nelson who is about the complete opposite of him.

"The Ultimate Fighter," a reality show/tournament, pits two teams of 16 welterweight fighters in an elimination bracket. Carwin and Nelson will coach the opposing teams, then in December they will fight live on FX in Las Vegas.

Shane will also make an appearance at Shawn Patrick's Lures 4 Laney on the Island at Water Valley in Windsor Sunday. He will take photos with fans and autograph merchandise that you bring all free of charge. Shane will be there from 2-4pm.
