Charley Barnes

This Thursday it all begins. Charley Barnes and Mike Neuerburg will once again attempt to ride their motorcycles 10,000 miles in 10 days to raise money and awareness for Honor Flight Northern Colorado. I love these men and appreciate what they are doing from the bottom of my heart. You are true patriots my friends.

It is a very difficult day here at K99. This is one of hardest things I have ever written. How do I put into words what Charley Barnes has meant to me, to K99 and to Northern Colorado?

Today our own Charley Barnes celebrates his birthday. Charley is not one to call attention to himself or fish for birthday greetings so I will do it for him. Charley is one of the best buddies a guy could ever have.

Our own Charley Barnes has been featured in the Greeley Tribune. I am so proud to work this man. Charley has made a point to inspire with his time on earth. There are many people who say "someone should do this" or "someone should do that" about things that are wrong in this world.

Hard to believe the year is over. It's been a good year all the way around for me personally, and digitally. Check out my Top 10 for the year which again gave me the honor of #1 blogger in our market.

This is late notice but I am hearing we are having a welcome home celebration for Charley tonight at 7 at Bittersweet Park in Greeley. Bittersweet is at 35th ave and 12th st.

It's been six months in the planning and the send off went off without a hitch. Many lined up along I-25 others rode along side Charley, some all the way to Cheyenne, and I can only assume some may have even followed a bit farther. This is to let you know that Charley is safe, as he is well into day two of his 10 Day Honor Endurance Ride.

I love music of all kinds and to be honest, I'm an old school radio guy.  I started in 1977 and have been doing it ever since.  Back in the old days though, the jocks picked the music they played on their shows and it looks like I complained long enough and finally got my way.

I am oozing an extraordinary Friday mood and it all got started with some music I hadn't heard in a long time here at work and since the boss is away, I have decided to walk like a rebel and go on a free-for-all today. So I got to thinking, why not do it every Friday. But I need you to have my back and support my rebelicious idea!

Nothing better than the sound of Spring, usually. I'm sure we'll see Spring but till then, there's still nothing better to do on a Sunday other than nothing

Charley is 50-years-old. We had a surprise birthday party for him on Sunday. We have pictures and a short video for you!

We see them on FB everyday. "Anyone remember what this is? Hit 'like' if you do." Sadly, yes I do. Everyone of them. Does that make me/us smart of just feel even older than we already feel. Well, here is my blast from the past.
