There's a new baby at the Denver Zoo. Tamale, a cape buffalo, was born on New Year's Eve.

Tamale is on display with the rest of the herd at the Denver Zoo.

What is a "Cape Buffalo?"

According to Wikipedia, a cape buffalo is a large African bovine, whose ancestry is unclear. While their head looks like an amazing mustache, they are dangerous, as they reportedly gore and kill 200 people a year. The African buffalo has never been domesticated, and have few predators aside from lions.

A South African conservationist, Lindsay Hunt, who featured in the Mutual of Omaha's "Wild Kingdom" special, "Buffalo Warrior," has said of the Cape Buffalo, "the adage an elephant never forgets would be matched by a buffalo never forgives. They have been known to attack people that have harmed them even years after the event."
