I have been fortunate to be in the music business for a long long time now and have seen many records broken and things that have happened for the first time in history. There is nothing like accomplishing something that no one else has ever done. There is no way to take that away.

It was on this date in 1991 that Diamond Rio did something that no band had ever done in the history of country music. Diamond Rio released their debut single "Meet in the Middle" and it went all the way to number one. I remember when that song first came out and we were all blown away by the harmonies of Marty Roe and the boys. We had them into the Sundance in Fort Collins for dinner around that time and met them for the first time. It is one of those memories that will stick with me forever.
