One person was reported dead after a Fort Collins crash right before 4 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 13).

The incident closed a section of Lemay Avenue for about four hours.

Fort Collins Police said a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by an adult male entered the lane of a 2008 Lincoln Navigator, driven by an adult female. The two-car collision occurred at the intersection of Whalers Way and South Lemay Avenue.

The male driver of the Corolla was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The female driver of the Navigator was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

"These cases are difficult for all involved," said Assistant Chief Tim Doran who oversees the Special Operations Division within Fort Collins Police Services in a press release. "Our thoughts are with those who were involved and witnessed this tragic incident."
