A disturbance that began on the morning of September 29 at a residence in Lochbuie ultimately resulted in a high-speed chase and the arrest of two Weld County residents on multiple felony charges.

According to the Greeley Tribune, Lochbuie police initially responded at approximately 9 a.m. to a disturbance happening at a home in the 1700 block of Zephyr Street. Once on scene, police met with one of the victims and homeowner, 21-year-old Robert Kline. Kline told them that his ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Sarah Quintanilla, had shown up at his residence along with two other men, who were all making threats to Kline. One of the men making threats, who was later identified as 28-year-old Carlos Liendo, also had a gun in his hand during this time.

While Quintanilla and the two men were outside of the Zephyr residence, an 18-year-old woman identified as Alexandria Vaughn exited the home and told them to leave. According to police reports, Vaughn and Quintanilla then began fighting, with several punches being thrown. Vaughn was able to beat the other woman off by using a broomstick.

Following the physical altercation, Quintanilla, Liendo and the other man left the scene in a Toyota Camry, but then came back while police were still talking to Kline and Vaughn.

Upon returning to the scene, one of the police officers attempted to pull over the Camry, which was being driven by Quintanilla. The 19-year-old suspect fled, leading police on a high-speed pursuit all around town. Her speeds reached 80 mph in 30 mph zones, and throughout the chase, Quintanilla ran multiple stop signs and was even driving on the wrong side of the road at times, narrowly avoiding other drivers.

Liendo attempted to jump out of the moving vehicle at one point during the chase, and shortly after a Springfield XD firearm fell from the car onto the street. Quintanilla continued to drive, dragging Liendo nearly 30 feet, before stopping the vehicle at Weld County Road 37 and Willow Drive in Lochbuie. Liendo and Quintanilla both exited the vehicle and took off on foot. It is unclear as to what happened to the other man who was inside the Camry.

Several agencies, including the Hudson Marshals Office, Fort Lupton police, Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol, set up a perimeter in the area and were able to track down Quintanilla and Liendo. The female suspect was located in a nearby parking lot, while Liendo was found hiding in an RV in the 1100 block of Plum Avenue, according to reports.

Once apprehended, Sarah Ivonne Quintanilla was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, vehicular eluding and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, among other charges. She was booked into the Weld County Jail, but is currently free on bond.

Carlos Eduardo Liendo was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing, first-degree criminal trespass and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, along with several other charges. He has also bonded out of the Weld County Jail.
