28 Hours – 3 More Sleeps

There is nothing more precious in this world than a child, I love kids, the innocence they have, the joy they show, the wonder of a child. No child should have these things taken from them, yet abuse goes on every hour, every day, every minute. Our children deserve to grow up and be all they imagine they can be, that is without exception. Unfortunately there are children in our area who have had their innocence robbed from them, their trust taken away, their self worth questioned, their bodies and minds abused, these children need our help.

There are 3 wonderful organizations in our area that help these children through the whole process of getting the information out and beginning the healing, A Kid's Place in Greeley, The Namaqua Center in Loveland and the Larimer County Child Advocacy Center in Fort Collins, I love these people and the work they do, that is why we put our minds, bodies and souls into raising money for them each year with our 28 Hours of Hope.

The 28 Hours of Hope is coming up this Thursday at 5 a.m. until Friday morning at 9 a.m., Todd and I will be on the air the whole time with a huge list of country stars from Clint Black and Charlie Daniels to Jewel and Steel Magnolia, Colorado Rockies, local artists and community heroes who support our cause. It is truly a magical event and there is nothing I do or have ever done that I am more proud of. It is the spirit of giving and the outpouring of love for our children that makes this event so special. We rarely get the big multi-thousand dollar pledges, no one can afford that these days, we would love that but it just doesn't happen, what we get and what we need are thousands of people giving whatever they can. If you think your $5 doesn't do anything, you are so wrong. If we all gave a dollar or 2, that adds up to great amount and can make some miracles happen for these amazing children who desperately need us. We are just the vehicle you need to use to give. We will make it easy for you, just give what you can. We will have pledge lines open and you will have to ability to give on our website too, please plan on giving whatever you can, empty the change from your ashtray, buy one less can of chew or smokes this week, go out for lunch one less time, give up one $3 cup of coffee and give the money to the kids.
