A van went off of Trail Ridge Road Tuesday afternoon carrying eight passengers in the Alpine Visitors Center. According to the Coloradoan, the van was traveling at a high rate of speed the wrong way through the parking lot, hitting a parked car.

the van then continued out of the entrance, nearly striking a park volunteer and driving over the rocks. That is when the van flipped over into the tundra near Ute trail about 75 feet off of Trail Ridge Road. In total, five passengers, including two children, were taken to Estes Park Health via ambulance. Three passengers suffered serious injuries.
