3Hopeful Hearts Gets Set for Huge Benefit Weekend

When my two youngest children died in June of 2012, I was devastated. Yes, parts of me still are and those parts will never mend. But there was a group of women that set out long ago to make this transition a little less uncomfortable. Nobody can take away the pain, but these women were there to listen, to be still, to hold my hand. 

I have since joined the board of 3Hopeful Hearts, hopeful that I too can join the crusade to bring at least one minute without pain to a parent grieving the loss of their child. We are here for families who have lost newborns, infants, teenagers and adult children, unfortunately death does not discriminate and it takes all forms of life from us for seemingly, at times, no reason.

As we head into the weekend of Sept. 6-8 we are excited to invite you to an incredible event where many of our friends will come together to share laughter, good food, beverages and music. (okay, there might be a tear here and there, but those of us with loss, in general have earned the right to be real).

A WEEKEND OF HOPE:

Our Walk to Remember weekend of events formally kicks off with a silent auction on Friday, September 6th from 6:30 to 10:00 PM, at the Rio Grande Restaurant's Agave Room (upstairs). Enjoy light appetizers, cocktails, music and dancing. Come have a wonderful evening with friends, support 3Hopeful Hearts' mission and kick up your feet and dance with us!

Our 5K Walk and Run is set for Sunday, September 8, 2013   8:00 AM City Park
1500 West Mulberry Street Shelter 7 (Fort Collins) Runners and walkers welcome. Registration will take place from 7:15a-7:45a The Run/Walk begins with a Dove release at 8a

We'll wrap up the weekend with a Walk to Remember, a time to unite families who share the bond of losing a child. It is a time to memorialize the family loss. The walk is for all bereaved parents, their families and support system. We'll loop around City Park lake (.65 miles) There are no hills. Check in at 6 in Shelter #7 (a donation of $10 or a copy of your favorite grief book, children or adults, would be appreciated, but not required. We'll honor the lives of our lost loved ones with a dove release at 6:20p

In a time when it is so important to honor, to hope and to heal I invite you to join us this weekend. I am so excited to be a part of this incredible group of inspiring women sharing love with this great community we call home.
