I guess I woke up and chose violence today because I'm daring to ask the internet if Larimer County should bring back the mask mandate (but I'm not going to say what I think about it).

According to The Denver Channel, at least four of Colorado's 64 counties have brought back the ol' mask mandate. Boulder County re-implemented the mandate just ahead of Labor Day weekend, stating that the county 'requires mask wearing in all indoor public spaces for all individuals two years and older regardless of vaccination status.' Pitkin, San Juan and San Miguel Counties have also brought back indoor mask mandates.

Here in Larimer and Weld Counties, there are no mask mandates. Most public schools, however, are requiring them to be worn indoors, which was met by pushback from parents. That said, it's been reported that ICUs in Larimer County are actually over capacity, now for the third week in a row.

'The Larimer County Health Department reminds residents that getting vaccinated, wearing a mask indoors, monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms, isolating when feeling ill, and getting tested are all vital steps to return to pre-pandemic life,' the county's website says.

While not mandated, masking is encouraged here regardless of vaccination status. Do you think with hospitals overburdened, we should be masking up again in Larimer County, and do you think it should be mandated? It looks like we could be headed that way.

Though the mask mandate in Larimer County was dropped months ago as vaccinations ramped up, Tom Gonzales, Larimer County Public Health Director, said that the Delta variant has 'changed the game.'
