40 of My Favorite Memories – Vol 10 The Bungee Jump

One day I will never forget was the day Todd and I decided to bungee jump. Early on in our careers we would do anything for attention and to get people talking. There was a bungee jumping company coming through town so we thought it would be a good promotional idea to plan a jump. I am terrified of heights and for reason thought this would help me get over that...bad idea. It was one of the most terrifying things I have ever done in my life.

It was over, what used to be the location of Ghent Chevrolet in Greeley, and we did it over the parking lot. I thought that if I failed at this, that there would be the biggest scratch and dent sale in the lots history. I was a good 170-200 lbs heavier back then and I thought I would stretch the bungee cords out like an overpulled Slinky. We hooked two of those bad boys up to me to be sure. I made it but I had my eyes closed tight the whole time. I have no idea what the city looked like from up there because I could only see the inside of my eyelids.

It was one of those things I am glad to say that I have done but would never do it again.
