Another week and another soldier who has paid the ultimate price since last Monday’s post. These warriors have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Please remember, “Freedom” isn’t free at all; someone has to pay for it. Please make it a point this week to go out of your way and thank a soldier. It’s a good habit to get into!

Pfc. Barrett L. Austin - Age 20 from Easley, S.C.. Pfc. Austin died April 21 in Landstuhl, Germany from injuries sustained when his vehicle was attacked by an enemy improvised explosive device in Wardak Province, Afghanistan on April 17. He was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
