This event is helping kids get their much needed backpacks and school supplies before the learning starts this fall. Approximately 60 booths will provide services such as face painting, balloons,  lunch and refreshments. Backpacks filled with school supplies will also be given away.

In 2014, 775 backpacks were available. This year, there are 2,700 and more than $55,000 in cash has been raised. Banner Health has donated $7,500. “The community support we see, and the excitement about it is a clear indication of the tone of the community,” District 6 Superintendent Deirdre Pilch said in an article from the Greeley Tribune. Adding “They want to support our kids.”

The Back to School party will be held at Island Grove Regional Park on August 13th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
