This just in, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office has issued a press release stating there is now a partial use restriction for the Poudre River from the Jackson County line (Cameron Pass area) to the Weld County line (approximately the town of Windsor) until condition warrant removal of the restriction. The restriction is immediate and will be in place through the first week of July, at the earliest. The partial use restriction restricts the use of single chambered air inflated devices (standard inner tubes), certain types of air mattresses and small inflatable rafts. These Items are prohibited on the river until the restriction has been exhausted. Violators can expect a class two petty offense charge, resulting in a $100 fine.

The city of Fort Collins has recently closed access points to the river from their city parks and natural areas along the river.

In the next few days authorities will be reviewing the Big Thompson to determine if restriction will be necessary there. Residents are encouraged to use extreme caution in using the river.
