Black Bottle Brewery Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection

Black Bottle Brewery opened in 2012 and quickly became one of Northern Colorado's favorites places for not only great craft beer but food as well.

According to BusinessDen.com Black Bottle filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, having assets of $291,577 but owing $1.6 million.

The protection filing will help Black Bottle get its creditors paid over time, while also keeping the business open, while it reorganizes.

From an interview with Black Bottle owner, Sean Nook:

We already had tight margins before closing. January and February are always our two slowest months of the year, and March usually gets better, but this month didn’t, or April, or May. Now we’re in June and we could be busy, but we’re not allowed to, but I understand why.

Nook had said that while they were able to due take-out during the pandemic shutdown, the cash flow for Black Bottle was 'dormant.'

I know that I, myself, am a big fan of Black Bottle and their wide varieties of brews; I hope that they recover and continue. Go, Scuba Steve.
