Bus Route Connecting Fort Collins, Greeley to Start January 2

Commuting will be a bit calmer for NoCo in the new year.

The Poudre Express, a new commuter bus line connecting Fort Collins, Greeley, and Windsor, will begin service on January 2.

The bus will operate four runs in the morning and three runs in the afternoon and evening Monday through Friday.

Since the goal of the new service is to accommodate Northern Colorado workers, it will not currently run on weekends.

The Poudre Express will be free to ride for the month of January in order to give people time to test it out. Starting in February, the bus will cost $1.50 per ride, with monthly and annual passes available.

The bus will also offer free Wi-Fi for those looking to get work done (or scroll through social media instead of doing work) during their commute.

The route will start at the Greeley-Evans Transit Center in Greeley, and at the Colorado State University Transit Center in Fort Collins.

The Poudre Express will hit the following seven bus stops:

• Greeley-Evans Transit Center - 1st Street and 12th Avenue
• University of Northern Colorado - 10th Avenue and 20th Street
• West Greeley - 10th Street and 69th Avenue
• West Windsor - Main Street and 15th Street
• East Windsor - Eastman Park Drive and CO 257
• East Fort Collins - Harmony Transportation Center
• Colorado State University Transit Center - Lory Student Center near North Drive

The stops and route times are based on several years of research by transit officials, who analyzed which times would serve the largest number of commuters.

Greeley-Evans Transit is operating the bus, in collaboration with Fort Collins, Windsor, CSU, and the Colorado Department of Transportation.
