The summer of 2021 brings back one of Loveland's favorite events after being canceled in 2020. Corn, music, beer, fireworks, a duck race, and more corn.

Dating back to 1896, Loveland's Old-Fashioned Corn Rest Festival is a great way to start saying 'goodbye' to summer, while enjoying that small-town feel of yesteryear.

The annual event will take place Friday evening, August 27, 2021, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and on Saturday, August 28, 2021. from 9:30 am. (the start of the annual parade) until 8 p.m. at Old Fairgrounds Park.

I used to attend the event when the fairgrounds were actually in this area by Barnes Softball Complex. I still remember being a little kid and losing my Mom in the crowd and being 'lost' for about five minutes. Old Fairgrounds Park is a great venue for the traditional event.

What a great way to meet up with old friends, take the kids to (there'll be a Kids Zone, maybe even make a 'first date' in the Sweetheart City.

The Grand Marshal will kick-off the free-to-attend event on Friday night at 5 p.m. will all vendor booths and the beer garden being open, along with tasty roasted corn for sale. The event really gets underway with the Corn Shucking Contest (which I'll be the emcee for) at 5:30 pm. that night.

There'll be plenty of free parking at Barnes Softball Complex as well as the dirt lot north of Old Fairgrounds Park (also knows as 'old school' parking.) Dogs are not allowed into the event.

Take A Look at 15 Photos That I Shot On My Colorado Summer Staycation

I had seven days to spend any way I wanted while on vacation. I spent then in the Centennial State. Taking a vacation in Colorado can come in many different shapes and sizes. Mine included a concert, some friends, family, and disc golf. Oh, how I love disc golf in Colorado. And summer. I love summer.
