Boy Fishing at Dowdy Lake at Sunset

My Wife and I went camping at Dowdy Lake Campground while I was on Vacation.  It is a beautiful spot 48 miles north of Fort Collins in the Red Feather Lakes Area of the Roosevelt National Forest.  The lake is peppered with natural rock formations that really add to its beauty. It's well worth the $25 a night to camp there.

Dowdy Lake Campground has 70 sites. Each site contains a tent pad, fire grate, and picnic table and most sites have electricity. Restrooms and drinking water are near by. If you want a camping spot, don't expect to just show up and get one. You must make reservations.

Dowdy also has a day-use area and boat ramp.  It is extremely popular for fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. Boats are allowed on the lake, but only trolling motors are allowed.  No big motorboats!

I would recommend Dowdy Lake to anyone. My wife and I will definitely be going back.  We took some pictures.  Take a look if you would like to see how beautiful it is there.
