William Michael Morgan is one of my best friends...period. I love this guy. We have become quite close over the years and I am honored by our friendship. We bonded long ago but when he played our Habajeeba Show a few years back we became tight.

There is no questioning the fact that I am a HUGE Cody Johnson fan. I just pre-ordered his new album 'Ain't Nothin' To It' and can't wait to get all the tunes. Today is Create a Great Funeral Day. I say we change this up a bit and create an event to celebrate the life of someone you love while they are still around. You often hear people ask "how do you want to be remembered?". My answer to that is that I just want to be remembered...period.

There are certain people in the country music business that I always get excited to interview and John Rich is right on top of that list. I have always been a huge Big & Rich fan and John always has something relevant to say. He is not only a great singer and songwriter but also a very smart businessman and entrepreneur.

We are in this battle together. We are the people and we make the mood and create the energy out there. It takes a positive mind set and dedication to be happy. It can be a lot of work and every little bit of encouragement certainly helps get through the week. Here are some of the things that hit my melon to help me this week.

I have no problem admitting I am a very spiritual person. I am not a churchy person but I sure have a connection and relationship with a greater being whom I speak to daily. We are free to believe in whatever we choose and I respect that to the ends of the earth.

I have no problem taking a stand for things I believe in. I believe in protecting each other and treating each other with respect. Those who commit domestic violence have no place in my life. I know you feel the same. Today and every day we need to stand up and be there for those who have gone through or are going through the hell of abuse.

Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday that I first heard this teenage girl named Taylor Swift singing a song about Tim McGraw. I knew she was something unique when I heard the song and then I saw her open for George Strait and was knocked out at how polished and professional she was.

Remember Dusty Chandler? It was on this date back in 1992 that George Strait introduced us to that character in the movie Pure Country. I will always remember being in a packed theater watching king George make his big screen debut. Seeing him play Dusty Chandler, in a beard and pony tail, was a bit of shock at first. I still love this movie.

From the first time I heard that voice, that twang and that rocking guitar, I was hooked on Dwight Yoakam. It was back in 1986 when my ears were treated to the sound of a song called "Honky Tonk Man" and they have been tuned into Dwight ever since. He is one of those artists whose music I will buy whenever he releases it

I was the music director here at K99 for about 30 and during that time I made a lot of right decisions and I made a lot of wrong ones. I like to think that I was pretty good at figuring out what was going to be popular and what might go down in flames. One mistake I would like to own up to right now is being wrong about Kane Brown.
