A cattle drive down Hynds Boulevard from Horse Creek Road and I-25 to Frontier Park Sunday July 14th kicked off the events of Cheyenne Frontier Days. Horses pulled wagons carrying local officials and family members in front of the approximately 550 head of Corriente steers, as cowboys and cowgirls rode behind to keep the cattle moving down the highway.

The drive turned south onto Central Avenue to Kennedy Road, and then from Kennedy Road to Carey Avenue and into Frontier Park. CFD Contestants Chairman Matt Jankovsky says the steers will be used for the slack events which begin on July 16th and the roping events during the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo that begins on Saturday July 20th.
