A Colorado man tried to order customized Colorado license plates from the DMV with the word "AMERICA". I am sure he was surprised when he got the rejection for the state's DMV with a message saying "This place personalization had been flagged as offensive in the system".

According to the Denver Channel, Kevin Helwig of Centennial was not trying to send a political message and that he loves our country and that is why he wanted the word on his plate. The DMV states that the wrong message was sent when the rejection happened and that they are working on replacing the message with more accurate wording.
