A new study by Lending Tree has ranked Colorado drivers some of the worst in the nation. The insurance branch of Lending Tree called Quote Wizard, looked at 100,000 Colorado insurance quotes and data, as well as Federal Highway Administration date, and statistics from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

Colorado was given a C- on the grade scale with Windsor, Colorado Springs, and Johnstown being some of the worst and Denver ranking 8th in the entire country of worst drivers. The national rankings are based on accidents, speeding tickets and D.U.I. citations.

In addition to being ranked as some of the worst drivers, or maybe because of being some of the worst drivers, Colorado has had one of the highest spikes in insurance rates. Colorado has seen a 27% increase in insurance rates from 2012 to 2016, the highest spike during that time in the country.
