Colorado has lost over 700,000 acres to wildfires in 2020, but our forests are already starting to grow back.

The East Troublesome Fire, which is Colorado's second-largest wildfire in history, charred nearly 200,000 acres in a short period of time, when it ignited mid October.

While the fire that burned Rocky Mountain National Park and threatened the towns of Estes Park, Granby and Grand Lake, has caused damage that will take years to recover, Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest tweeted a photo of regrowth that has already started.

East Troublesome Fire is 37 percent contained as of November 4.
