Colorado Is the 15th Best State For Public Education in the U.S.

The educational system in America has changed a lot since I was a kid. Distraction culture is high and there's a lot of pressure on the youth of America. With that in mind, U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos alerted the country to a "student achievement crisis" in 2020, announcing a decline in math and reading scores.

According to a study done by the National Assessment of Educational Progress, though, Colorado has something to smile about when it comes to educating our children. While national averages might be a bit concerning, local performance by students remains strong: and Colorado is straight up smart, y'all. 

Out of all 50 states, Colorado ranked 15th, with the following average scores provided by MeetFabric.com:

• Composite score: 81.1
• Grade 4 Math: 2 points above average
• Grade 4 Reading: 6 points above average
• Grade 8 Math: 4 points above average
• Grade 8 Reading: 5 points above average
• Graduaton rate: 79%
• Student-to-teacher ratio: 17.4
