In the state of Colorado, you never know what kind of weather you are going to get. Does anyone remember when we had 100-degree temperatures one day and it was snowing less than 48 hours later? Colorado is always unpredictable when it comes to weather.

The Farmers' Almanac is calling for a chilled and rainy season in the region. The region that Colorado is in includes 10 other states. Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri. Overall, the Farmers' Almanac is calling for a "Polar Coaster Spring" for much of the United States.

While we may want the warmer weather to get here faster, more snow in the high country is a great thing. More snow equals more moisture. With that in mind, I am hoping we get feet of snow in the coming months. Why do I say this? The more moisture we have in the mountains hopefully means a lower risk of wildfires. That's the last thing that Colorado needs.

if you recently moved to the state of Colorado from somewhere else, don't let Mother Nature fool you. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have gone to the hardware store to see people purchasing hundreds of dollars worth of plants at the beginning of March, only to have to spend more money on plants weeks later because a snowstorm came through and dumped a foot of snow. Wait to plant your plants later in the season. Around Mother's Day is a safe bet to plant along the Front Range of Colorado and even later if you live in the foothills and the mountains.
