ESPN is reporting that Colorado State University's president, Joyce McConnell, is investigating the school's athletic department after university staff and student athletes expressed concerns about COVID-19 safety.

According to ESPN, student athletes allege that they 'have been intimidated and threatened as leaders sought to disregard COVID-19 protocols.' Some players claim they have been discouraged to get tested for the virus, because a positive outcome would affect their playing time; some even say that they were told to 'hide' symptoms.

President McConnell, as well as coach Steve Addazio and athletic director Joe Parker all issued statements about how they are handling the investigation and COVID-19 protocol within the department, via the CSU Athletics Facebook page.

Not every player on CSU's football team agrees with the allegations, however. As ESPN shared, a number of players took to Twitter to refute the claims after The Coloradoan published a story about the allegations.

In the meantime, President McConnell said that 'she was launching an 'immediate and objective' investigation into the athletic department following allegations,' EPSN reported. You can read the full story here.
