Colorado Woman to Appear on ABC’s “Extreme Weight Loss” This Week

A Colorado woman will appear on an episode of ABC TV's "Extreme Weight Loss" this week. Jackie, from Denver, will be assisted in her weight loss journey by U.S. Olympic Swimming greats and Colorado residents Missy Franklin and Amy Van Dyken, as well as Chef Rocco DiSpirito.

Her inspiring transformation will be featured in the August 25th episode of “Extreme Weight Loss” on KMGH, Channel 7. The hit show is a docu-series about weight loss that takes viewers on a 365-day journey of “super obese” people.

Jackie will work one-on-one with trainers Chris and Heidi Powell, and will also spend the first 90 days of her weight loss journey at the renowned University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center in Aurora, CO.

Jackie  was a fit athlete in high school, but she put on more than 100 pounds (reaching a total of 266 pounds) after her newborn baby suffered Shaken Baby Syndrome at the hands of the nanny. The incident resulted in brain damage that the child still lives with it 16 years later. Jackie is hoping to lose the excess weight that continues to hold her back and gather the strength to forgive the nanny who changed their lives forever.
