'Tis the season for cookies!

Don't you love this time of year? Family, the Christmas spirit and endless amounts of cookies paired with hot coffee. I'm such a happy and content little camper around this time of year. And recently I got to thinking, which holiday cookie do we love the most at Christmastime? There are so many options out there besides sugar and chocolate chip cookies.

I found a list on The Spruce Eats of the 50 States of Christmas Cookies.

For Colorado, it's Bizcochitos. These are also known as Anise Cookies, which means, you guessed it, they taste like black licorice. If you're like me, you love the flavor of black licorice and are currently salivating on your screen. Of course these cookies have aniseed in them, but they also have a rich, nutty flavor thanks to the whole wheat flour. And if you're feeling extra, you can toss in a tablespoon or two of brandy or tequila. Now it's a party!

What kind of Christmas cookie is your favorite?
