The Freedom Riders are representing the State of Colorado in the 58th Inaugural Parade in Washingon DC. This is the third time the group has made the trip to participate in the event.

The Freedom Riders took six horses and riders, two trailers along with banner carriers and horse safety walkers to take a trip down Pennsylvania Avenue to celebrate Donald Trump taking office as the 45th President of the United States. Five of the Riders are from Weld County.

This group of women are proud of the country they live in, and have come up with a unique way to display their affection with a patriotic western presentation of our colors. They carry large 6’ x 8’ American flags horseback with beautiful red, white, and blue attire from atop the flag to the hoof of their horses. The group attends many local and national events remembering and honoring the men and women of our military, members of our Government, Police and Fireman and all others that work daily to protect our country.

A gofundme site has been set up to help raise money for travel expenses for both riders and horses to make the 2600 mile round trip to Washington DC. Hotels, fuel and expenses are estimated to be at $11,000.00.

Soon after arriving in Washington DC, the Freedom Riders were interviewed by ABC News, which is featured in this video:
