Due to the current state of COVID-19 in Northern Colorado - which has caused counties to reinstate tighter restrictions - Comfort Dental has canceled its annual 'Care Day'.

Comfort Dental, a dental office in Loveland has offered free dental care annually on Christmas Eve since 1984.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, Care Day started as a way of making dental care accessible those who need it; On Care Day, all dental services are free to anyone, and patients are taken in on a first-come, first-served basis for various procedures, like cleanings and extractions.

Nearly 300 Comfort Dental dentists and 1,300 staff members offer their time for Care Day nationwide, including those at the Comfort Dental location in Loveland.

The Loveland Reporter-Herald says Care Day helped 4,000 patients last year with $1.4 million worth of dental services.

There is potential that Care Day will be postponed, however a set date has yet to be determined.
