Colorado Travel Website is New and Improved

Like Mike Stivic ranted about on All In the Family, everything is "new and improved." CDOT's updated web page is no exception. Earlier today, September 30, 2021, CDOT rolled out the new COtrip.org webpage.

When logging on to the site, you'll be immediately greeted by the "Announcements" screen. It should come as no surprise this morning's announcements included upcoming closures on I-70 in Glenwood Canyon and the ongoing closures on Highway 50 near Cimarron. I can't help but suspect those announcements will be lingering on the page for some time.

Features to be Found on the Site

Speaking from past experience, COtrip.org is an extremely useful resource. Given recent events in Colorado, the website is more valuable than ever. If you're planning to travel in Colorado, take full advantage of features like:

  • Real-time updates on road conditions and closures
  • Camera images and live streaming video
  • Trip planner tool
  • Searchable and zoomable map display
  • Trucker-specific resources and tools

One Awesome Tool You'll Want to Use This Winter

COtrip.org has one of the most useful apps you could ever wish for. Imagine knowing in real-time the precise location of every snowplow in the state of Colorado. With the click of a mouse, you can access COtrip.org's Snowplow Tracker. Get live, up-to-the-minute info on the location of plows all over the state.

A Few Bugs to Work Out

As of this morning, September 30, the site appears to have a glitch or two. COtrip.org says they are aware of it and are making efforts to correct the issues.

Keep This Thing Handy

The site is new and improved. Is it really any better than the old site? That's in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I found it to be a little easier to navigate. Before the redesign, trying to locate the snowplow tracker could be a challenge. Now, the link is in plain sight.

I was born and raised in this state and have made more than a few road trips. This site is kind of like a pickup truck - you'll never regret having it and you'll find new uses for it every day.

If you're planning to take the family on an autumn drive, or if you plan to commute around the state, this site will prove itself useful time and time again. Put it to good use.

20 Bucket List Items You Need to Do in Colorado in 2021

2020 has been a pretty garbage year for a lot of reasons as the COVID-19 pandemic has prohibited us Coloradans from doing a lot of things we love.

Concert season was basically canceled, and because of social distancing and other restrictions, a lot of activities we'd usually partake in have been put on hold.

However, if things return to normal in 2021, we'll undoubtedly be back to enjoying our great state. Here are 20 bucket list items you need to do in Colorado in 2021.
