Bandimere Speedway, which previously made headlines for its Fourth of July celebrations, is facing a lawsuit from Jefferson County for 'blatant violation of public health orders,' after it held a 'Stop the COVID Chaos Rally [photos].'

Hundreds gathered at Bandimere Speedway on Tuesday night (Westword said there were thousands) even though under current health orders, the track is permitted to host up to 175, CBS4 Denver reported.

A Jefferson County public health official told CBS4 that the lawsuit filed on September 3 'is seeking an injunction requiring Bandimere Speedway to comply with all current and future Executive Orders and Public Health Orders and restraining them from violating them.'
