It's been illegal to own a pit bull in Denver since the late 1980's, but it looks like that all might change.

According to 9News, there are pit bulls living in Denver, but their owners have been "living in the shadows"...however, thanks to a new bill that will allow for breed-specific licensing, pit bull owners could be able to proudly own or adopt dogs of the breed.

The bill means that only two pit bulls would be allowed per household, and current adoptive owners would automatically be enrolled in the program.

This comes after the news that Aurora is also considering lifting their pit bull ban, so we can only hope that both of these pieces of legislation will go into effect in 2020 and make Colorado a safer place for all loving pups.
