On August 18, Denver set a new record high for heat.

It's been ridiculously warm here in Northern Colorado, but as hot as it feels in Fort Collins, Denver has been sitting on its (literal) high horse, saying "Hold my craft beer."

According to the National Weather Service, the hottest recorded temperature for Denver was in 2013, with a high of 98 degrees. Today, the Mile High City officially hit 99.

And if that doesn't make you sweat, it's also the 58th straight day of 90-degree (or above) weather, so that's official permission to break out the beach towels and call in sick to work.
