This morning, I stumbled upon a Facebook page that I could not stop scrolling through. After three posts, I had to hit the like button.

The page called Historic Denver has a couple of hundred photos from Denver and Colorado's past that would fascinate anyone. Whether you have lived in Colorado for decades or recently moved to the Centennial State and are curious to see how far Colorado has come, you will certainly enjoy this page.

Here are some of my favorite photos that I saw this morning:

Stapleton Airport

Before Denver International Airport became one of the top five busiest airports in the world, there was Stapleton Airport. Stapleton Airport was quite smaller, yet much closer to the Denver Metro Area.

Denver Amusement Parks

We all know about Elitch Gardens and Lakeside. Celebrity Fun Center used to be another entertainment park in Denver from 1960 to 1994. Walt Disney was one of the celebrity founders of this family entertainment destination according to Wikipedia.

Westminster University

The building used to be in what could be considered a desolate part of the Denver Metro Area is now built up and quite busy.

The Mile High City has seen its fair share of growth and change.

Red Rocks Amphitheater

Red Rocks has undergone quite a transformation over the years.

The Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have come a long way over the decades. Here you can see the original Mile High Stadium.

Coors Brewery in Golden

Furr's Cafeteria. Gone. But never forgotten.

Shakey's Pizza is still in business. However, no longer in Colorado

The Birthplace of what is now known as the Cheeseburger

The Jolly Rancher Factory

When I was a kid, we lived a short distance from the Jolly Rancher factory. The smell was intoxicating. The best scent was when they were making watermelon Jolly Ranchers.

Lakeside Mall

The mall has been long gone and has been replaced by a large shopping center with a Wal-Mart.
