If you're looking to lead an active lifestyle in 2021, you don't need to move very far.

Denver, CO has been named one the best cities for an active lifestyle, coming in at #8 according to a study conducted by WalletHub.

The study, which was released on Wednesday (Jan. 6), is very timely, considering many people have the New Year’s resolution of losing weight and exercising more.

The Denver Post says that WalletHub compared the 100 biggest U.S. cities by finding and using data ranging from the average monthly fitness-club fee and the number of basketball hoops to bike scores and the prevalence of COVID-19 in every given city.

The Mile-High city was among the best for swimming pools, fitness centers and public golf courses per capita, placing within the top 10 in the country for those statistics.

The top 5 cities for an active lifestyle according to WalletHub's study are:

  1. Honolulu, HI
  2. Portland, OR
  3. San Diego, CA
  4. San Francisco, CA
  5. Chicago, IL

Other Colorado cities made the list, including Colorado Springs, which came in at #42, and Aurora at #69.
