I tend to think that 'Achy Breaky Heart' and 'Boot Scootin Boogie' were heavily responsible for the country line dancing craze that overtook the dance floors starting in the early 90's. If the beginning notes of either of those tunes came on, there was a mad dash to the dance floor.

It was on this date in 1992 that Brooks & Dunn were at number one with that country classic. Did you know that they were not the first ones to record that song though? Many think they are the originators but they were not. Ray Benson and his legendary group Asleep at the Wheel actually recorded it a couple of years earlier.
