After enjoying spring-type temperatures to start the winter season around Colorado, it's finally starting to feel more like a traditional Colorado winter with more snow on the way.

More Snow Coming To Northern Colorado

For weeks, maybe even months, folks in Colorado have been begging for that white fluffy cold stuff to start covering the mountains and causing slow highway driving. They finally got their wish on New Year's Eve, just in time too because that snow helped the Marshall Fire immensely. Now, we've got another potential Northern Colorado snow day coming up.

Denver 7's Mike Nelson is reporting that we have got about a 90% chance of snow around Northern Colorado this Wednesday, January 5th. We're expected to see about 4 inches of snow so break out your snow shovels again. We have got a high wind warning all day today that is blowing in the snow for tomorrow. Thanks to the snow we got on Friday though, the risk of the fire remains low.

While snow can be a bummer to some, it can also create some fun memory-making opportunities. When the snow started on New Year's Eve, my son immediately requested that we build a snowman! It was still pretty chilly on Saturday so we planned our snowman adventure for Sunday when the sun came back out before the Broncos game. Don't most football fans plan around game times? Our snowman adventure took a detour when a random snowball fight broke out. I did not win in case you were wondering. Here's our snowman that my son lovingly named, "Frosty."

There's a smaller chance of snow on Thursday and some precipitation in the forecast for Saturday as well. We're finally getting that moisture we've been needing so let's hope it continues.
