This is Memorial Day weekend. This is the time set aside to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice , although I think we all feel that should be done on a daily basis. I know I would not be here today living the American dream if it weren’t for the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform. Let's all remember what this holiday is all about.

We have a debt to pay to everyone who has given their lives for this country. That debt can be paid by not wasting our lives that they fought for. Live your life in a way that would make them proud they risked all to give you the chance to live it. We have the freedom to mess up, learn from it and achieve. We have the freedom to complain publicly about things we don’t like and have the freedom to do what we can to change them. We have the greatest country on this planet because of our military and it’s history.

When you see a veteran make sure you thank them for all you have. I love the look on a person’s face who is proudly wearing a hat proclaiming their service while shopping or eating at a restaurant, when you walk up and simply say thank you. I was in line at the grocery store not long ago and was behind one of these gentlemen. I paid for his small pile of groceries and he was moved nearly as much as I was. The pleasure and honor were all mine. Although this holiday is to honor those who are no longer with us I want us all to honor those who are still with us on a daily basis as well.

I love this country and I love the men and women who have and are defending it. To the families and loved ones of those who gave their lives...our hearts and gratitude are with you. God Bless America!
