There have been some odd occurrences in country music performances lately. Randy Travis needed medical attention while performing, the tragedy of the Sugarland stage collapse last Friday night our own Doug Kershaw ,the Ragin Cajun, had the ceiling collapse after his performance at the Oriental Theater in Denver. Doug is fine, thank goodness.

“Let me tell you, that was a shocker,” said Doug. “I’ve heard people tell me I’ve torn the house down, but never literally.”

We picked up the story from HeyReverb.com.

About a 20-by-15-foot section of ceiling plaster fell directly above the stage and onto the empty small dancing area in front of it. No one was injured, but Kershaw’s wife, her father and their friends were sitting in the first row of seats just beyond the dance floor.

He said the debris missed his friends and family by a matter of inches.
