What began as a celebration and appreciation for farmers has become a staple in the community. Eaton Days kicks off today (July 10) and runs through the weekend.

As the Greeley Tribune reported, Eaton Days has become an important part of this Northern Colorado community and has lots of activities throughout the weekend.

Here is what the weekend looks like for the fun event:

Friday - July 10th

  • Sundowner’s garage sale, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Town Hall 1st St., all proceeds benefit the Eaton community
  • Sidewalk art contest, 9:30-11 a.m. at the Town Park
  • Play at the park, 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Town Park
  • Eaton Lion’s Club BBQ, 5-7 p.m., 1st St., Recreation District parking lot
  • Street Dance, featuring Austin Wahlert, 7-11 p.m., 1st St., between Elm and Maple Avenues

Saturday - July 11th

  • Sundowner’s garage sale, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., Town Hall on 1st Street
  • The AJ Eaton House Museum open house, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., 2nd Street and Elm Avenue
  • Parade, 10 a.m., 1st Street and Juniper Avenue
  • Petting Zoo, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Town Park
  • Arts and craft fair, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Town Park
  • Barbecue lunch, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Town Park’s South Pavilion
  • Classic car show, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 2nd St. and Park Avenue
  • Studebakers located at the Eaton High School bus barn
  • Pet Contest, 2 p.m., Town Park
  • Family night, 7-8:30 p.m., Eaton Middle School
  • Fireworks extravaganza, 9 p.m. (dusk), watch from Eaton Middle School

Sunday - July 12th

  • Pancake Breakfast, 7-10 a.m., Town Park South Pavilion
  • Grass Volleyball Tournament, 9 a.m.- 12:30 p.m., Eaton High School varsity football field
  • Vintage baseball game, 1-3:30 p.m., Eaton High School varsity baseball diamond
  • Outdoor worship, 6:30 p.m., Town Park under the trees

ALL WEEKEND

  • Business Window Displays: Walk around town to see how businesses are celebrating Eaton Days this year.
  • Eaton Days scavenger hunt: The scavenger hunt is through local businesses to win prizes.
